In late 2018, I was working as a behavioral therapist at a clinic for children and adolescents with ASD.  After 7 years in the field, I was getting burnt out and ready to move on.  At that time, my in laws were also in the middle of leaving their careers and begining a new one.  Since I had sewing experience, we decided to team up and start an upholstery business that focused on serving restaurants.

In the begining, I worked both as a contract employee for them and as a therapist full time.  I spent hours upon hours watching youtube videos, practicing on side-of-the-road furniture, and honing my craft.  When the pandemic began in 2020, restaurants began to (understandably) cancel their scheduled remodels/repairs.  I decided to expand my skills and study marine upholstery.  By 2021, I felt ready to venture out on my own and begin my own company.

Reserved Seating Upholstery of Southeast Michigan is a commercial and marine upholstery shop in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  I have done work for various Physical Therapy clinics, local universities, restaurant chains, etc. I specialize in vinyl/leather seating and marine interior/exterior seating. RSU serves all of Southeast Michigan (and beyond!)
