Dear WBA Members,
We’ve recently been made aware that some of our members have received phishing and spam emails that appear to be from the Washtenaw Business Association or its members.
These emails may attempt to solicit sensitive information, contain malicious links, or request payments under false pretenses.
Please be vigilant and follow these guidelines to protect yourself:
1) Verify the sender: With most of our emails, legitimate emails will TYPICALLY come from official domains (e.g., *@WWBA.BIZ or @WashtenawBusinessAssociation.org).
Note: These WBA emails are "forwarding-addresses", they forward to our personal email addresses. So, when we "REPLY to your email", it will come from our PERSONAL EMAIL ACCOUNT (@gmail.com, or @OurCompanyEmail.com, etc.)
If you're unsure about an email's origin, do not respond or click any links.
2) Look for red flags: Be cautious of emails with poor grammar, urgent requests, unfamiliar links, or unexpected attachments.
3) Do not share sensitive information: The WBA will never ask for personal passwords, financial information, or login credentials via email.
4) Report suspicious emails: If you receive a suspicious email, please forward it to info@wwba.biz or admin@wwba.biz or communications@wwba.biz so we can investigate and take necessary action.
Your online safety is a top priority for us. Thank you for staying alert and helping us maintain a secure network for all members.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us directly.
Best,
Cory Dunham
President, Washtenaw Business Association
